Dear Friends & Neighbors,
We’re excited to introduce Livability Oregon, a community-driven movement dedicated to bringing together the people of Newberg and Yamhill County around the issues that truly matter. At a time when politics too often pull us apart, we are choosing to unite. Rejecting hyper-partisan agendas, fringe issues, and identity politics in favor of common-sense solutions that improve our everyday lives.
Livability Oregon is about practicality. Supporting a strong local economy, investing in infrastructure, expanding housing that working families can afford, attracting living wage jobs, and enriching our communities with more opportunities for recreation, connection, and growth. These are the challenges we all face, and together, we can meet them with purpose and clarity.
Over the past four years, our community has shown what’s possible when we stand together for solution-driven leadership. Together we've demonstrated that when we stand together for livability issues over a hyper-partisan agenda, we are the majority. Many of you have partnered with us to elect the candidates and efforts that now shape the foundation of Livability Oregon: two successful Newberg School Board slates, a winning CPRD slate, the elections of Newberg City Councilors Elise Yarnell Hollamon and Jeri Turgesen, and Commissioner Bubba King. Those of us behind Livability Oregon are the same people that backed these candidates that now serve as nonpartisan leaders in our communities. We are proud of that momentum and ready to build on it in a bigger way.
Looking ahead to 2026, Livability Oregon is committed to growing our impact. We’re focusing on the open Yamhill County Board of Commissioners’ seat, as well as key local races across the county. Our goal is simple: elect leaders who put community and real-world solutions over conflict.
But we can't do it alone.
This is your invitation to join us. During a time when national politics feels like it's at our front door, be part of a movement that centers community values, shared goals, and a vision for a more livable Yamhill County. Whether you’re a small business owner, a parent, a student, or a neighbor who just wants to see your town thrive, there’s a place for you here.
Instead of watching the news and doom scrolling, join this movement locally, and help us reach our goal of $20,000 by August 1st to show that we are here and going to continue standing for the values that represent most of us. Donate Here.
Let’s move Yamhill County forward together. Livability doesn’t happen by accident.
Sincerely,
The Livability Oregon Team
